This week our Green Schools committee had the opportunity to test their skills and brush up their knowledge of rubbish sorting and responsible recycling through the ‘Bin it Better’ workshop. The boys impressed our visitor with their existing knowledge and learned a lot about how they can encourage people around them at home and in school to “Bin it Better”. Well done boys!

Our four baby chickens are doing well. All settled into their brood box for the next few days🐣🐣🐣🐣

Our Chicken Cam is now up and running😀 We are expecting our first chicken to emerge on Tuesday. Check back for updates! Thanks to the PA for funding this project

Rang a Cúig have been exploring climate change and pollution and their effects on the environment and marine life. Today, we carried out an experiment simulating an oil spill in the ocean and the most effective materials to clean it up.

Well done to our second class pupil who represented our school at the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council recycled Christmas decoration competition! His decoration was a creative use of recycled materials including paper and a tin can to create a delicious-looking cup of cocoa!

Our Green Schools committee have been hard at work so far this year, promoting our events and keeping our school tidy and green. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí!

There was a fantastic turn out, on 15th October, at our weekly WOW ( Walk on Wednesday ) from Cuala for National Walk to School Week. Well done boys!

Well done to all the boys who participated in Walk to School Week 2025! The boys ditched their cars this week and opted to walk, cycle, scoot or park-and-stride to make the most of the dry Autumn weather and help the environment while they were at it. Our Green Schools committee kept a record of the boys who walked each day and compiled our data in a colourful bar chart. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí!

The boys did a great job litter picking along St. Patrick’s Road. Well done everyone!

Rang a 3 did a great job litter picking on Castle Street for the national spring clean. Maith sibh!

We used the story The Rainbow Fish for our Building Bridges strategy Making Connections. We also made our own little rainbow fish with paint, celery sticks & tin foil.

There was such a wonderful turn out for this week’s WOW ( Walk on Wednesday ) on 9th October, as the boys knew it is officially Walk to School Week. Well done to everyone who took part.

We went litter-picking around Dalkey as part of the National Spring Clean initiative.

We had a great time conducting all sorts of experiments for Science Week this year. There were colours, flavours, explosions and plenty...

Rang a 5 have been busy with our Road Cycling Safety Course. We have been learning the rules of the road, how to follow road signs and signal appropriately. It's great exercise and a green way to travel to school!
