Ms Molloy

Fáilte go Rang a Dó! Our teacher is Ms Molloy. We will be sharing our adventures in Second Class on this page

Recycled Christmas Decorations
Well done to all the boys who made a recycled Christmas decoration for the DLR competition. They look fantastic!

Maths: Addition
Our Dienes Blocks really help us visualise the numbers when we’re adding two-digit numbers together.

The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark
We recently finished our first novel, The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson. The boys made their own clay owls, which now have their own nest in our classroom.

LEGO Club
Amazing builds at our school’s weekly LEGO Club!

Science - Germ Experiment
This test was a very effective way to show the importance of hand washing!

Science Week - Gummy Bear Test
We watched as the gummy bear grew in water over a few days. This process is known as osmosis.

Science Week - Show & Tell
Chemical Reactions, Cocoa Powder Test and Coke & Mentos

Science Week - Show & Tell
Magic Pepper, Microscopic Views & Dancing Raisins

Science Week - Magic Milk
The boys watched the reaction when they dipped a cotton bud with washing up liquid into milk & food dye.

Science Week - Light
The boys have been learning about light and how different items can be transparent, translucent or opaque. They tested some items in the classroom using torches.

Science Week - Rainbow Spinners
The boys made rainbow spinners to show how the colours of the rainbow can merge together to make white light. Great job boys!

Cress Seed Experiment
We placed cress seeds in two different cups, marked ‘A’ & ‘B’. Both cups had cotton wool and water. The only difference was light exposure; we put Cup A on the windowsill and Cup B in the cupboard. The results were very interesting!

Thirsty Celery
A great experiment to show how plants drink water.

Scary Cake Competition
The boys made terrifying cakes this year for our annual scary cake competition. The judges had a tough decision choosing the winners!

Spooky Poetry Recital
Congratulations to this boy who won this year’s spooky poetry recital in Rang a Dó. The boys learnt a variety of poems - Witch Witch, It’s Halloween, Skeleton Parade & Happy Halloween .

Walk to School Week 2025
There was a fantastic turn out, on 15th October, at our weekly WOW ( Walk on Wednesday ) from Cuala for National Walk to School Week. Well done boys!

GOAL Jersey Day
Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s GOAL Jersey Day on Friday, 10th October. We managed to raise €200 for such a great cause!

The boys are enjoying using our schools’ new skipping ropes. Each week they are getting better and better!

Art Work
Every Friday we do Art. The boys have made some great pieces so far this year.

Friendship Week
The boys did a great job making friendship bracelets with Rang a Sé, using loom bands.

Local Fieldtrip
We recently explored our local area - Dalkey.
