SNA Appreciation Day
We are so lucky, at Harold Boys’ N.S., to have so many wonderful SNAs. It was nice to show them how much we appreciate their work on 25th September.

National History Museum Trip
The 4th class had a fantastic day visiting the National History Museum, exploring exciting exhibits and discovering fascinating facts about the past. Everyone enjoyed the trip and came home full of stories and new knowledge.

Hockey
We have started playing hockey this year. Our coach Ben from Avoca hockey club taught us lots of new skills and we really enjoyed playing a new sport.

Library Visits
We are lucky to have Dalkey Library right on our doorstep. We, in second class, go up every second week to borrow and return books.

Walk to School Week 2025
Well done to all the boys who participated in Walk to School Week 2025! The boys ditched their cars this week and opted to walk, cycle, scoot or park-and-stride to make the most of the dry Autumn weather and help the environment while they were at it. Our Green Schools committee kept a record of the boys who walked each day and compiled our data in a colourful bar chart. Maith sibh a bhuachaillÃ!

Eardrum Experiment
Rang a cúig got Science Week 2025 off to a flying start by creating eardrum replicas to explore how sound waves cause the eardrum to vibrate. We have had lots of fun learning about the human ear and sound. Stay tuned to see what exciting experiments we explore next!

Building Bridges
Rang a cúig had a blast planning and creating some fabulous bridges using only dry spaghetti and glue. The boys put on their STEM thinking caps and came up with some exciting designs before bringing their bridges to life and testing their durability using a bucket filled with sand! We definitely have some future engineers in our midst!

Scary Cakes!
The boys had lots of fun making their scary cakes and showing off their creativity for our annual Scary Cake competition. Well done to everyone who entered the competition and a special comhghairdeas to our class winner and overall school winner. Maith sibh!

Active flag slogan and poster competition
The active committee ran a whole school competition for our new Active Flag slogan for 2025/2026. Each class had 3 winners. The committee then voted on the slogan 'We were made in 1901 to be active, sporty and have lots of fun' as the overall winner. We are very happy with our new Active Flag slogan for the year. Go raibh maith agaibh gach duine.

Rang a 6 had a great time playing in their GAA league. Well done representing your school! We are all very proud of you.

Walk to school week
The boys were all encouraged to walk to school every day. A survey was carried out and 2nd class had the most students walking to school. Maith sibh rang a 2!

In September 6th class ran an obstacle course for the whole school. The boys really enjoyed it. Maith sibh rang a 6!

Class Disco
3rd class earned 3000 Dojo points so they were rewarded with a class Disco. It was great fun!

Petrifying pumpkins, creative costumes and more!
We’ve had a spooktacular week at school! The boys created petrifying pumpkins in art, showing off their amazing creativity. On Friday, everyone dressed up in fantastic Halloween costumes and enjoyed some tasty treats together. It’s been a brilliant start to the school year - full of learning, fun and friendship. Tús maith leath na hoibre !

Clay models of the school
Last week we drew our school and this week we made clay models of our school. We will paint them next week.

Mini beast hunt
We have been learning all about animals. We went on a mini beast hunt around the school. We found many invertebrates including spiders, earthworms, snails and wood lice. We examined, identified and drew them back in the classroom.
