We’ve had a spooktacular week at school! The boys created petrifying pumpkins in art, showing off their amazing creativity. On Friday, everyone dressed up in fantastic Halloween costumes and enjoyed some tasty treats together. It’s been a brilliant start to the school year - full of learning, fun and friendship. Tús maith leath na hoibre !

We had a great debate about uniforms with second class on Thursday. Maith sibh buachaillí!

Last week we drew our school and this week we made clay models of our school. We will paint them next week.

We have been learning all about animals. We went on a mini beast hunt around the school. We found many invertebrates including spiders, earthworms, snails and wood lice. We examined, identified and drew them back in the classroom.

This week we learnt all about 2D shapes. We went on a 2D shape trail around the school and at home.

Our 4th class boys have just completed their six-week swimming lessons! They showed great effort, commitment and plenty of smiles along the way. Well done to everyone for diving in and making such fantastic progress!

The school are taking part in the Active School, 'Skip Around the World' Challenge with month. They are enjoying getting out and skipping as much as we can.

This month rang a 3 have been learning all about our school. We learned all about its history by looking at old roll books and photographs. We went outside for art and drew the school. Next week we will make models of the school out of clay.

Our 4th class boys walked to the local Dalkey library and explored the shelves, found stories that sparked their imagination and learned how the library works - from checking out books to using the reading areas. We returned to school inspired and eager to read more!!

Rang a 3 went to the Lexicon today to see 'Dr Brain Fun-believable Science'. He was brilliant! The boys had great fun learning about gravity, balancing and friction.

Rang a 3 are budding artists. We have been learning to draw from observation. The boys drew each other and created a self portrait.

Rang a 3 had their first trip to the library this week. The boys enjoyed picking new books and having some quiet reading time there.
