THE SHOE BOXES for Operation Christmas Child were collected on November 8th. They are now en route to any one of 100 countries. Many thanks to Luke Connolly and Conor Mullally for co-ordinating this.

GARDA ARTHUR O'NEILL spoke to the pupils in Mrs Costello's class about road safety and reminded them to be vigilant crossing roads especially with dark evenings in Winter. He spoke of the role of the Garda in society and of the boys' personal safety. He also suggested that parents buying new jackets for their sons should ensure the jacket has a reflective strip which would show clearly in cars' headlamps.

KEVIN GLYNN a practising vet spoke to the pupils about pet care. He emphasised the importance of considering animals that are easy to care for when choosing a pet.

TONY SWEENEY (P.E.) from the Regional Curriculum Support Service will work with the pupils and teachers of Harold Boys' between November and June. Areas of focus will be Outdoor Adventure, Dance and Gymnastics.

CAROL SINGING Mrs Costello hopes to take the fantastic Harold Boys' Choir to Bloomfield Shopping Centre on December 16th. They will sing carols from 4.00 - 5.00pm. The funds raised will go to the Parent Teacher Association to assist in Payment for me English Book Rental Scheme and educational materials to be used in classrooms. Please support this outing by ensuring your son is brought to Dun Laoghaire at the required time. You may like to contact other parents to organise transporting boys there and back in groups.

BAG PACKING for the boys i will take place in Eurospar on November 18* at 10.30am. We are extremely grateful to the pupils and parents who give up their free time to raise badly needed funds for the school.

WE WELCOME students from Froebel College of Education who will do teaching practise in Classes 2nd to 4th. We look forward to working with them.
