MAY 2005 NEWSLETTER
TIP RUGBY, UNIHOC and lots of other fantastic P.E. equipment has now been purchased. This was made possible by P.T.A. fund raising throughout the year. A big thank you to you, the parents for supporting these events. We have now prioritised Maths equipment and computer software for teaching English as resources which are urgently required. Basically the more money we get, the more resources we can buy. A Soccerthon is to be held on May 24th to raise these funds. We would urge you to support this event.
PEER MINISTRY with students from 5th year Loreto Abbey takes place on Tuesdays for pupils from 3rd to 6th Class. The pupils benefit from small group teaching with innovative methodology making the subject of Religion fun.
GARDA ARTHUR O’NEILL came to speak to all pupils at assembly. He emphasised the need to cross the road extra carefully due to the increase in traffic in Dalkey. Please remind your son to be vigilant at all times.

TESCO TOKENS Shops will cease giving tokens on May 15th but we will continue to collect and count. Please send any remaining tokens you may have to the school.
FIRST COMMUNION was celebrated by our 2nd Class on May 7th. The Church ceremony was followed by a party in the school for the boys and their families. Elaine O’Madagain organised this event and was assisted by the P.T.A. and also by parents of 3rd Class – Susan Ledwidge, Cora O’Donnell, Sandra O’Brien, Siobhan Carrigg, Dee Mc Loughlin and especially Jackie Comerford and Terry Moran. A special word of thanks to Mrs. Ward for preparing the boys so well for this special day.
