BOARD OF MANAGEMENT Welcome to the new parents representatives, Susan Barry and David Lyons. We look forward to working with them and are very grateful to Cora O'Donnell and John Thorne for all the work they did while on the previous Board.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE This is one of the main fundraising events of the year. Please support by ensuring your son sells as many tickets as possible.
BAG PACKING On December 15th Rang IV, V and VI will be bag packing in Eurospar Dalkey. Please encourage your son to take part.
CAROL SINGING This event takes place in Bloomfield's Shopping Centre, Dun Laoghaire on December 19th 4.00-5.00pm. Please come along and enjoy the singing.
REFURBISHMENT The refurbishment continues and every week we see improvements in the school. The P.E. and Art stores were completed recently, making it easier to access equipment and resources.
TRIP TO AIRFIELD -This was a most enjoyable day. Thanks to Mrs liaising with Dalkey Tidy Towns to organise it.

SCHOOL POLICIES AND PLANS Policies (relating to the organisation of the school) and Plans (which relate to subjects) are constantly being written and reviewed by staff. They are then sent to the Parents' Association and amended if necessary. Finally they are sent to members of the Board of Management and are ratified at a Board meeting. Details of policies and plans which have been ratified will be included in future newsletters.
NEWB The National Educational Welfare Board requests that absences are recorded IN WRITING . (Please do not phone the school if your son is absent). It also requests that the CAUSE of each absence is given. Please remember this when writing to your son's teacher.
HSE The Health Service Executive has asked me to inform parents that from December 17th the Dental Department in the clinic in Patrick's St. Dun Laoghaire will be closed. Dental services for pupils from Harold Boys' N.S. will be provided at the HSE clinic in the Health Centre, Kilbegnet Close, Dalkey. Telephone 01-2353200.
CHRISTMAS ART COMPETITION The entries are on display in the hall. It will be very difficult for teachers to choose winners (the standard is very high !). Prizes will be presented at the school concert on December 21st. Thanks to Ms O'Carroll for organising this and to the Parents' Association for funding the prizes.
SWIMMING classes commenced for Rang IV on December 12th.
RUGBY COACHING Rang V and VI started Rugby on December 10th.
